There was a period in my life when it felt like all of my friends were getting married! We attended weddings, parties and showers galore. I can't believe I am old enough to even say this, but we have now shifted to BABIES. So many of our dearest friends are expecting or have already welcomed a little one to their family. While I may not be quite ready to hop on the baby train, I do enjoy the opportunity to put my planning skills to the test for a baby shower.
I, along with my two cohorts pictured above (Kaitlin, baker extraordinaire and Celia, hostess with the mostest) threw an elegant Velveteen Rabbit themed shower for our best friend, Cristina! Cristina, our girly and super fashionable friend is expecting a sweet baby boy in February. We knew we wanted to do something elegant for her that wasn't over the top boyish. We combined her love of bunnies and whimsy for the Velveteen Rabbit theme.
We held the shower at the STUNNING Leslie Alford Mims House in Holly Springs, NC. If you are looking for any type of venue (wedding, shower, rehearsal dinner) look here! I cannot even put into words how gorgeous this place is. The house has been completely restored to its original beauty and is a blank canvas of rustic hard wood floors, gorgeous crown molding and stunning chandeliers. Most of the beautiful furniture you see in the pictures is available to use when you rent out the space. How cool is that? I already asked my husband if we could do our whole wedding again? It might just be worth it to have it at the Mims house:)
I am mildly obsessed with flowers and knew we could only have the best for this shower. Anna from Meristem floral made all of my floral dreams come true with her incredible work. Her wild and whimsical designs were perfect for our theme and in my opinion made the whole day. Not to mention, the room where we ate smelled AMAZING from the fresh eucalyptus garland and beautiful blooms. Oh, and that flower crown! Stunning.
The gorgeous tablescape looked perfect thanks to the vintage rentals from Farm and Filigree. Kristal, the owner, even stayed for a few hours to help us set up. I cannot thank her enough for her kindness and generosity (it truly blew me away). She has an incredible selection of vintage rentals that wold be the perfect addition to any event.
We had stunning hand lettering thanks to Makayla White from MakayMade based out of Knoxville, TN. She can send you gorgeous signage to any location. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but the table runner on the food table is actually the Velveteen Rabbit story written out. Isn't it gorgeous? My favorite pieces were the beautiful watercolor place cards. They added the perfect amount of blue to our table:)
Our gorgeous and simple cake was made by the sweet and talented Randi of Sugar Euphoria. Not only did it look beautiful on the outside, but it was DELICIOUS.
Rebecca from The Arrow House Photography knocked it out of the park again with her gorgeous photos! It was so important to have someone there to capture this special day, and Rebecca was our girl. I know I will treasure these photos forever. Her work is gorgeous and she is sweet as pie.
Most of all, I want to thank my amazing co-hosts! We tag-teamed to throw a pretty incredible event for our sweet friend. They made all of that yummy food and styled the whole food and beverage room. They are rockstars!!
Can't wait to meet your sweet baby, Cristina. I hope it's evident how much we love you.
