One thing I didn’t realize before getting pregnant was how important it is to research everything you are putting into or on your body to ensure that it is safe for baby. That even includes skincare and makeup!

On a recent shopping trip at my favorite Raleigh shopping center, Cameron Village, I discovered an incredible store filled with clean beauty products that are perfect for pregnant women. I am so excited to introduce you to AILLEA! AILLEA is a place where women can “clean up” there beauty routine and find products that are free of parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, endocrine disruptors or other toxic chemicals, and were not tested on animals. I loved being able to shop around and find products that were safe for me and baby during this critical time in my life!

I even got to test out a few of their wide range of products and have my makeup done! It was such a treat for this overdue mama-to-be, and I LOVED the finished product. One of my favorite products was the Lily Lolo mascara, it truly lengthened my lashes with just a couple of coats + it’s only $20 and is the perfect place to start if you are looking to switch up your beauty routine to include clean products. I also loved the CLOVE + HALLOW line of lipsticks and found the perfect shade of pink for Fall.

AILLEA is such a beautiful store and has a wonderful staff eager to help you find the best products for your lifestyle. Did I mention they even have a section of safe products to use on baby? I know I will be stocking up on diaper cream, baby oil and sunscreen once baby finally decides to arrive!

CLARINS UNIVERSAL LIGHT PRIMER | PEACH PRIMER

As temperatures have started to rise and we've been seeing an increased amount of sunshine, I have had this sudden urge to step up my beauty game. Skincare is always important, but it seems especially important in the months leading up to summer so that you can enjoy your best skin without having to cake on tons of makeup. I have fallen in love with a product that has helped elevate my beauty routine and I am SO excited to share it with you. The Clarins SOS primers have become a staple in my beauty bag and something I reach for every morning.

I have tried both the Universal Light Primer and the Peach Primer, and I am big fans of both. I love mixing the Universal Light Primer with my foundation on days when I need a little more coverage. It gives me the coverage I desire but also gives me that glow that I am always looking for. My skin stays hydrated and fresh throughout the day. On days when I want to wear less makeup, I start with the Peach Primer which helps to blur imperfections. It is seriously amazing and gives my skin an even finish and covers any dark spots or blemishes I may have. I then finish my skin with a little powder and bronzer, and I am good to go!

OK, I realize this took me wayyyyyyy too long, but I am so excited to FINALLY share my Seattle apartment with you guys starting with my home office tour. It's been so fun to have a space that is all my own (although often times taken over by my husbands junk-we only have 900 square feet people) and allows me to be inspired and create for you guys. It's definitely small and being taken over by clothes, but I love it! As you will see from the rest of the apartment, we went with a netural bohemian theme. My office has tons of natural light (when it's not raining) and was pretty easy to decorate considering the size. I basically have one wall in the office that isn't a sliding door or windows, so I knew it needed to make a statement. I have always loved gallery walls but have never been confident in my ability to style one, so I called upon Minted and their personal art styling service.

The Art Styling Service from Minted is seriously amazing! It's super easy and convenient and before you know it, you will have a perfectly designed gallery wall. I simply took an easy style quiz so my designer could have an idea of my personal style and get a taste for the things I liked. Next, I uploaded photos of the exact space where I wanted my gallery wall to hang (iphone photos worked perfectly). My stylist (Kathlyn-she was amazing) then sent two options to choose from. She included pictures of what they would look like hung on the walls so I could visualize for myself.

Kathlyn did an amazing job and I actually loved both choices, but I ended up going with the second option because it had a little more color. I didn't include much color in my apartment except for subtle pops of blush pink, so I decided to be a little bit more adventurous with my office. Also, I immediately fell in love with the vintage car print. This design reminds me of Old Havana which is definitely on my bucket list of places to visit.

After I made my choice, I sent Kathlyn the dimensions of my wall and she sent back the correct sizes for each piece of art. Kathlyn then placed each of the items in my Minted shopping cart. This was super helpful because I simply had to checkout (I didn't even stress about making sure I had picked the right sizes).

After about a week, I received the art and Ben and I hung the pieces according to the directions outlined from Kathlyn. Seriously, the whole process could not have been easier. It was SO helpful to have someone put together a gallery wall for me without all the stress. Especially for a girl who has a hard time making decisions when it comes to home decor. I am in love with the way it turned out and can't wait to show you the rest of the pieces we picked!

The Minted art styling services start at just $79 for an art wall and $99 for an art room! It's seriously like having your own personal interior designer minus the insane cost. I couldn't recommend it more.

I'm actually quite embarrassed to admit this, but I have never taken good care of my skin or had any skincare regimen at all. I've always taken my makeup off at night, and washed my face but that's about it! I knew it was gonna take something drastic for me to finally do something about my skin and to start to put in the effort to take care of it. That's where my night time routine comes in! I am a self proclaimed routine girl. I could literally eat the same things every day and do best when I work out at the same time, so developing a night time routine seemed like a smart option! Stay tuned for a post on the exact products I use for my skin at night coming soon!

COMFY CLOTHES AND WIND DOWN: My first step in my night time routine is to get comfortable! Putting on PJ's is the easiest way to start my wind down process. It's much easier for me to relax my mind when i'm comfortable, so sweatpants and an oversized T-shirt are key. Sometimes, I opt for a cup of hot tea as well. It's not an every night thing for me, but I do love it on occasion.

CLEANSE: There's nothing better than being completely clean before bed! I like to remove all of my makeup and cleanse my skin. I have recently been loving the Peony Petal Cleansing Oil from L'OCCITANE. It's infused with real peony petals from Provence and smells amazing. I also love how it gently cleanses my skin and leaves it feeling silky and smooth. My skin has seriously never been more radiant or glowing.

PAMPER: I try to find a way to pamper myself every evening because we all deserve a little pampering. This usually comes in many forms and could be anything from a giant bowl of popcorn to a long bubble bath, but my favorite way to truly treat myself is with a face mask. I absolutely love the L'OCCITANE Peony Collection face masks. I use the Peony Flash Moisture Mask, Peony Overnight Perfecting Mask and the Peony Purifying Minute Mask interchangeably depending on what my skin needs at the time. My favorite mask in the Peony Purifying Minute Mask because I see immediate results. It's like a mini miracle for my skin and makes me feel SO good!

READ: Finally, I always try to do a little reading before I go to bed. I usually only last about 20 mins before I can no longer keep my eyes open, but I always try to read for at least a little bit! I love that it helps me to shut off my brain and not think too much about my day or anything that might be causing me stress.

Do you have a routine you stick to before bed? I would love to know your tips! Stay tuned for a post on the exact products I use for my skin at night coming soon!
